WEB DESK: Rhea Chakraborty has finally been vindicated after facing intense media scrutiny and public speculation surrounding the tragic death of her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput.
Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty faced intense media backlash, including accusations of being a “gold digger” and “murderer,” following the death of her boyfriend, actor Sushant Singh Rajput, in 2020.
She was imprisoned for 27 days amid these allegations. Recently, India’s Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) stated that Rajput died by suicide and that Chakraborty and her family were not involved.
Her lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, emphasized the thorough investigation and called for reflection on the media’s role in spreading a “false narrative.”
Feminist lawyer Payal Chawla criticized the misogynistic treatment of Chakraborty, urging caution against premature judgments.
Although Chakraborty has remained silent since the CBI’s announcement, her brother expressed support through a social media post, suggesting a sense of vindication for the family.
Court will decide whether to close the case based on the CBI’s findings.
