Rio Olympics: US tops medal table followed by UK and China

The US maintains its position at top of Rio Olympics medal table with 26 gold medals followed by Britain with 16 and China with 15 gold medals.

Netherlands Sherwin Van won gold for 10-kilometer open-swimming event by covering it in one hour 56 minutes. Italy’s Bruni secured second while Brazil’s Paulino secured third positions.

Poland’s Anita won gold for 82-meter in throwing even. China secured silver while Britain won bronze.

Bahrain’s Roth Jappet won gold in 300-meter woman race while Kenya’s Huang Kuang won silver and American Emma Coborn won bronze.

Greek Alfthoris won gold in ring gymnastics  while Brazil’s Arthur Znetti won silver and Russian Dennis won bronze.

Netherlands Sein Wevers won gold in woman gymnastics beam final. The silver and bronze medals were won by US athletes.

Russia’s Devet beat rivals in 85-kilogra wrestling contest.
