Rohit Sharma rises to the top spot, Pakistan players see improvements in the ICC ODI rankings

WEB DESK: Rohit Sharma makes history as the oldest batter to claim the top spot in ICC ODI rankings, This accomplishment comes after his match-winning century in the third and final ODI against Australia.

Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran remains steady at the second spot, while Shubman Gill, India’s current skipper, dropped two places to third. Pakistan’s Babar Azam holds firm at fourth in the latest rankings update.

For Pakistan, Mohammad Rizwan advanced one place to 24th with 592 points, and Imam-ul-Haq climbed to 40th. Saim Ayub improved to 53rd with 503 points, though Salman Ali Agha slipped to 39th. Abdullah Shafique maintained his position at 97th.

In the bowlers’ rankings, Shaheen Afridi moved up to 14th with 593 points, while Haris Rauf kept his spot at 30th. Spinner Abrar Ahmed ascended to 38th with 502 points, as Naseem Shah rose to 43rd. However, Mohammad Nawaz dropped three positions to 72nd with 427 points.

Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan continues to dominate the ODI bowling rankings, with South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj and Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana securing second and third, respectively.

In the all-rounders’ category, Salman Ali Agha climbed to 19th place while Shaheen Afridi stayed fixed at 27th. Naseem Shah holds onto his position at 36th. Both Haris Rauf and Saim Ayub progressed to share 55th place with 128 points each.

Atop the all-rounders’ chart, Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai remains in first place, followed by Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza at second, with veteran Mohammad Nabi holding the third spot.
