WEB DESK: Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma has broken his silence on the retirement rumors circulating about his Test cricket career.
According to Indian media reports, Rohit Sharma addressed the retirement news, stating that he is not retiring from Test cricket for now. He explained that his absence from the final match against Australia was due to being out of form.
In an interview Rohit said, “Not playing in the Sydney Test against Australia should not be considered as retirement. People with pens or laptops cannot decide when a player should retire.”
The Indian captain further emphasized, “People sitting outside cannot decide when I should sit out or when I should captain. I am a mature and grown man, a father of two children, so I know when and what decisions to make.”
It is worth noting that Australia defeated India in the fifth Test match, claiming the series 3-1, with one match being drawn.
