Gujranwala (November 10, 2017): The investigation team probing Rs 200 million corruption on the direction of the Managing Director of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) Amjad Latif arrived here and sealed the accounts branch of the company after taking records in its possession.
The incharge of the company’s Gujranwala office Ejaz Siddiqui and its clerk Sadaqat Gujjar have been suspended over the mega embezzlement.
However, Sadaqat Gujjar, who was declared the main suspect in the findings of the initial investigations, has fled the country.
As per the initial investigations and amount of more than Rs 200 million were embezzled by preparing bogus bogus bills.
It may be mentioned here that the probe ws ordered by MD of the company after a massive corruption of Rs 200 million was unearthed in the accounts branch of the company’s office here.
Sources have confided that the corruption was carried out in utility bills and the purchase of the pipelines.
The four-member investigation team led by Shahid Hameed had arrived in Gujranwala earlier today.
