Saad, Ayaz, Shehbaz Discuss Senate Poll Strategy

Lahore (February 09, 2018): The Railways minister Khawaja Saad Rafique and speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq met with chief minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif and discussed upcoming senate elections, political affairs and ongoing development work.

Talking on the occasion CM Punjab said that the nation would not forgive those, apparently pointing out Imran Khan, who continuously playing the politics of lies, accusations and U-turns for four and half years.

“People will reject them in next election as the change can’t come through empty slogans it requires work for day and night,” he said.

Mentioning swift completion of uplift projects with record savings, CM said that the journey of nation’s development being on peak as the resources were the fidelity of people and a single penny being used with great care.He claimed Punjab government has saved 682 billion rupees in various development projects that was unprecedented.

Saad Rafique and Ayaz Sadiq praising the CM Punjab said that the progress of Punjab role model for the other provinces as Shehbaz Sharif has turned the province into a developed province.

Earlier, the Election Commission of Pakistan sent voters lists, consists of members provincial assemblies, to concern Returning Officers for senate election that will be held on March 3.

According to ECP spokesperson the membership of nine MPAs have been suspended and can’t take part in voting process.

“However if they submit their financial details before voting they will eligible for voting,” ECP said.

Out of nine seven members related from Sindh Assembly are Ismail Raho, Makhdoom Khalilur Rehman, Miss Sania, Muhammad Kamran, Rukhsana Perven, Balqees Mukhtar and Erum Azeem while two from Punjab Assembly- Jamal Leghari and Abdul Majeed.Nomination Papers’ Deadline Ends

The first phase of submission of nomination papers of senate election has been completed as entire nation keeping eyes on Senate polls that could be provided ruling party an edge for the next general election.

A total of 52 Senators in the house of 104 are set to retire following the completion of their six-year term.

According to the documents of the ECP, a total of 34 nomination forms were submitted from Punjab, of which 21 forms were submitted for general seats, five for reserved seats for women, five for technocrat seats, and three for reserved seats for minorities.Besides, a total of 47 nomination forms were submitted from Sindh, out of which 23 were submitted for general seats, 11 for reserved seats for technocrats, nine for women and four for reserved seats for minorities.

In Balochistan, a total of 28 nomination forms were submitted. Out of the total, 15 forms were submitted against general seats, seven for reserved seats for technocrats, and six for women-specific seats.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a total of 34 nomination forms were submitted for the March 3 Senate elections. Of the total, 20 forms were submitted against general seats, six for reserved seats for technocrats and eight for reserved seats for women.
