LAHORE: Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq has approved Sibbi Railway Station’s designs after some minor changes, while the construction of Hernai Railway stations was also approved.
Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq chaired a senior-level meeting in Lahore, during which he directed to present him plan to install electric escalators and elevators in nine railway stations within 15 days. Railway Minister has also decided to fix the age limit to 50 years for physical test of train drivers, under which tests to be conducted on quarterly basis after age of 55 years.
Khawaja Saad Rafiq, during the meeting, said that Railway Stations upgradation and restorations must be according to modern trends and requirements.
He directed that physical tests of train drivers must be conducted by Railway Hospitals as well as to avail facilities from all top hospitals nationwide.
