ISLAMABAD: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced that the crescent moon for Safar was not sighted, hence the 1st of Safar-ul-Muzaffar would be observed on Sunday.
The committee’s meeting, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, was held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs building in Kohsar, Islamabad.
No testimony of the moon sighting was received from anywhere in the country during the meeting. Following the meeting, the committee declared that Saturday,
July 26, 2025, would be the 30th of Muharram-ul-Haram 1447 Hijri, and Sunday, July 27, 2025, would mark the 1st of Safar-ul-Muzaffar 1447 Hijri.
A notification to this effect has been issued. It is worth noting that astronomers had also predicted that the moon would not be visible today.
