ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, emphasized that the territorial integrity, security, and protection of every Pakistani citizen remain the highest priority for the Pakistan Army and will never be compromised under any circumstances.
He expressed these views during an interactive session with participants of National Security Workshop–27 (NSW–27), who visited General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi today.
The Army Chief addressed the evolving regional landscape influenced by intensifying geopolitical competition, cross-border terrorism, and hybrid threats.
Despite these complex challenges, including externally supported militancy and information-based warfare, Syed Asim Munir praised the commitment of Pakistan’s Armed Forces, intelligence agencies, and law enforcement institutions in maintaining professionalism and resolving to ensure national security.
He asserted that Pakistan holds significant importance on the global stage and is destined to achieve its rightful position among nations. Reflecting on the Armed Forces’ exceptional performance during Marka-e-Haq, he noted how their professionalism and dedication have elevated Pakistan’s stature internationally. He further stressed that national unity remains the country’s greatest strength, enabling collective efforts to defeat adversaries’ harmful agendas.
Reaffirming the Pakistan Army’s unwavering support for both federal and provincial governments, Syed Asim Munir highlighted the necessity of coordinated national initiatives and institutional collaboration for sustained peace, stability, and progress.
Participants were also briefed on measures taken against illegal activities, including efforts to curb smuggling, narcotics trafficking, and organized criminal networks posing security risks. Updates were provided regarding reinforced border controls and the repatriation of undocumented foreigners, crucial steps toward preserving internal security and safeguarding national interests.
