DUBAI: Pakistan’s rising star Sahibzada Farhan has been named the ICC Player of the Month for February 2026, recognizing his exceptional performances during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
Farhan’s standout efforts saw him eclipse Virat Kohli’s record for most runs in a single ICC T20 World Cup edition, and he made history by becoming the first player to score two centuries in the same tournament against Namibia and Sri Lanka.
The talented opener scored a total of 383 runs across seven T20I matches, boasting an impressive batting average of 76.60 and a striking strike rate of 160.25. His remarkable contributions distinguished him from other contenders during the month, although the final stages of the tournament in March will be considered in the upcoming voting cycle.
Expressing his excitement, Sahibzada Farhan stated, “Receiving this ICC award is a tremendous honor, especially given the global audience that watches the World Cup. It makes the achievement even more meaningful.”
He added, “This tournament will always hold a special place in my heart, and I’m eager to build on this momentum in upcoming series and competitions. I’m also very thankful to my teammates for their unwavering support I couldn’t have achieved this without them.”
