LAHORE: The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) recorded statement of only three witnesses, whereas, duty magistrate also failed to complete identification parade on Monday.
Members of the JIT team reached the Yousafwala police station where three witnesses appeared to record their statements while remaining witnesses kept insisting to provide their statement at the incident’s site.
Sources said that the investigators managed to record statement of only one witness in duration of 1.5 hour. Many witnesses reached the police station but kept standing outside following fear. Witnesses said that they were feared of going inside the police statement and they will give statements at the incident’s site.
The probe team returned from the police station after completing the process of recording statements from witnesses. Meanwhile, duty magistrate failed to complete identification parade of the six accused officials sent on judicial remand.
A delegation comprising representatives of human rights was also reached at the Yousafwala police station. The delegation members held meetings with witnesses and JIT members.
