WEB DESK: Pakistani writer Saima Akram Chaudhry has expressed strong criticism of actress and television host Nadia Khan following her comments about a scene from the ongoing drama serial Zanjeerain, which sparked discussion on social media.
The debate started after a clip from Nadia Khan’s review programme circulated online, showing her reacting to a scene featuring actress Sajal Aly as Rabiya. In the clip, Nadia made a sarcastic remark about the character calling out “Koi hai?” while running, joking about how another character would appear in response. Her comments received mixed reactions from viewers.
Although Zanjeerain was written by Farhat Ishtiaq, Saima Akram Chaudhry joined the conversation by referring to her previous professional experience with Nadia Khan. The writer advised Nadia against making fun of other performers and claimed that Nadia’s acting had previously affected one of her own written projects.
In response to the viral video, Saima shared a strongly worded statement, accusing Nadia of mocking rather than offering constructive criticism. She alleged that Nadia had negatively impacted a script she had written in the past and questioned her decision to comment on the performances of others.
Saima’s remarks generated further discussion among entertainment circles, with fans sharing differing views about criticism, acting reviews, and the responsibilities of public figures.
