Salman Akram Raja announces resignation as PTI secretary general

ISLAMABAD: Salman Akram Raja, the General Secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has announced his intention to resign from his position, stating that he will formally ask party founder Imran Khan to accept his resignation.

In a message posted on X, Salman Akram Raja stated, “I will formally approach Imran Khan tomorrow (Tuesday) to request my release from the role of Secretary General.” He emphasized that even after stepping down from his official position, he plans to continue providing legal assistance to PTI on a voluntary basis.

The senior lawyer also mentioned that he had previously submitted his resignation through Advocate Ali Bukhari, but it was not accepted by Imran Khan. “I appreciate the trust placed in me,” he remarked.

He further explained, “An event today has compelled me to make a decisive and clear choice. My life is transparent, and my actions are aligned with my principles. I refuse to compromise on my intellectual or financial integrity. Tomorrow, I will speak with Imran Khan and formally resign from my role.”
