LAHORE: Middle order batsmen Umer Akmal, who media dub as ‘scandal king’ for his on and off the field controversies and discipline issues, landed in another controversy.
Akmal during the ongoing domestic Quaid-e-Azam trophy’s match has reportedly misbehaved with a player of Lahore Whites. The player with who Akmal misbehaved was identified as Wahab Dar.
Secretary Lahore Region Shoaib Dar has sent a letter to Pakistan Cricket Board, demanding disciplinary action against Umer Akmal for misbehaving with a player.
It is to be mentioned here that Umar Akmal is regarded as controversies’ favourite child. Right from his silly dismissals, dropped catches, hilarious off the field acts and famous request to Imran Khan for promotion to No. 3 in batting order, Akmal junior has been trolled time and again on social media.
After the T-20 World Cup’s crashing exit, Akmal was dropped from the national team on the report of then team manager and coach as punishment for disciplinary issues. Since then he was out of the national squad and made a comeback in the just concluded T-20 seiries against West Indies.
