Sarfaraz Backs Babar, Team After Australia Tour

KARACHI: Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed backed Pakistan team after losing series against Australia and said the new captain and new management will take some time, Australia tour has never been easy.

Sarfaraz while addressing pre-match conference between Sindh and Northern cricket teams at National stadium Karachi said, “New management and new captain will take some time to settle, playing in Australia has never been easy.”

Showing support to Babar Azam the former skipper said, “I wish Babar will lead the side well, the young captain will take some time, he used to stand with me at the slip as vice-captain and we had good chemistry.”

The former captain said, “I am grateful for whatever I achieved as the captain. I am satisfied with my performance as captain. I led the Pakistani side in 100 international games in three formats. I always tried to perform for Pakistan and gave my best,” Sarfaraz said in his first public appearance after being sacked from captaincy and team.

Sarfaraz Ahmed further told the press that chairman PCB Ehsan Mani and Misbah-ul-Haq have contacted him via telephone. “MD PCB Wasim Khan has also advised me to focus on domestic cricket,” he said.

The former skipper said that “There’s nothing to regret about.”
