Saudi crown prince extends Invitation to PM Shehbaz for 2025 FII Forum in Riyadh

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has received a formal invitation from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to attend the ninth edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) Forum, scheduled to be held in Riyadh from October 27 to 30, 2025.

The invitation was personally delivered by Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malky during a meeting with the Prime Minister on Saturday. PM Shehbaz warmly accepted the invitation and extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, according to a statement from the PM Office.

The meeting between the Prime Minister and the Saudi envoy was described as cordial, with discussions touching on current regional developments and matters of mutual interest.

In a related development, Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja held high-level talks with Saudi Minister for Communications and IT, Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening technological cooperation under the Pakistan-Saudi IT partnership framework.

Key initiatives were outlined, including the proposed launch of the Pakistan Digital Corridor, a strategic project aimed at connecting Pakistan with China and Central Asia to enhance global digital integration.

A major milestone discussed was Pakistan’s approval of a Rs 4.8 billion Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) project dedicated to semiconductor training, which aims to skill over 7,000 Pakistani youth in cutting-edge technologies.

Minister Shaza Fatima expressed strong support for Saudi Arabia’s National Semiconductor Hub, emphasizing the importance of collaborative ventures in artificial intelligence and advanced computing fields between the two nations.
