Saudi King urges collective measures for world’s peace, stability

Riyadh (May 21, 2017): The Arab Islamic American Summit has begun in Riyadh.

Addressing the opening session, Saudi King Salman Abdul Aziz said scourge of terrorism has become a threat to entire world and constructive cooperation between countries is imperative to eliminate terrorism from the world and multi-national alliance has been formed to effectively cope with Islamic State terrorist group.

King Salman also emphasized the need of collective measures for peace and stability in the world.

Addressing the conference, US President Donald Trump said the United States does not want to impose its vision on the others. He said we want peace, progress, and prosperity in the entire world.

He said the summit is aimed to formulate such an alliance, which is capable to safeguard the future of our coming generations.

President Trump described Saudi Arabia, as the heart of Muslim world and said he chose this country for his first foreign visit.

Earlier, upon his arrival in Riyadh on  a two-day visit to attend US-Arab-Islamic summit, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was received at the airport by Saudi high officials.

In his address to the conference, the Prime Minister will highlight Islam’s message of peace, tolerance and brotherhood. He will also apprise the participants of Pakistan’s efforts to eliminate terrorism and its role in strengthening peace and stability in the region.
