SBP launches commemorative coin to mark Marka-e-Haq victory, Independence day

ISLAMABAD: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has introduced a special Rs75 coin to honor the recent military success in Marka-e-Haq (the Battle of Truth) and to celebrate the nation’s Independence Day, reflecting national unity and pride.

In an official statement, the central bank announced, “To recognize the bravery of our armed forces during Marka-e-Haq and to commemorate Independence Day with dignity, the federal government has issued a commemorative coin valued at Rs75.”The coin, weighing 13.5 grams, is composed of 79% copper, 20% zinc, and 1% nickel, with a diameter of 30mm. 

The obverse side features a rising crescent moon and a five-pointed star facing northwest at the center. The upper perimeter of the coin bears the inscription “ISLAMI JAMHURIA PAKISTAN” in Urdu. Beneath the crescent, flanked by two upward-curved wheat stalks, is the year of issuance, 2025. The denomination “75” is prominently displayed in bold numerals on the right, with “RUPIA” inscribed in Urdu on the left.

The reverse side showcases the phrase “MARKA-E-HAQ” in Urdu script, with the year “2025” centered below. Encircling the top edge of the coin is the phrase “PAKISTAN HAMESHA ZINDABAD” in Urdu. The design also includes images of two fighter aircraft on either side, a naval ship, and a multiple rocket launcher system (MRLS), symbolizing the strength of Pakistan’s armed forces.
