Islamabad: The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday annulling the Lahore High Court (LHC) verdict declared the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidates on three National Assembly (NA) seats as a winner.
The SC three bench headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa heard the case of recounting on three NA seats against the LHC verdict.
The SC in its verdict declared the LHC judgement null and void and retained the Election Commission of Pakistan decision.
The top court pronounced the verdict with a majority of 2-1.The SC Judge Justice Aqeel Abbassi opposed the verdict.
The PML-N Abdul Rehman Kanju, Azhar Qayun Nehra and Zulfiqar Ahmed had approach the SC against the judgement of the LHC.
The NA constituencies include NA 154 Lodhran, NA 79 and NA 81 Gujranwala.
The top court had reserved the judgement on July 12.
The SC had heard the case against the Lahore High Court (LHC) decision.
