Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) on Friday granted permission to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Sanam Javed and Shaukat Basra while annulling an election tribunal verdict on rejection of nominations papers of the two PTI candidates.
A three member SC bench headed by Justice Muneeb Akhtar heard the PTI leaders Shaukat Basra and Sanam Javed against rejection of their nominations papers.
The top court declared the judgment of their rejections of the nominations papers by the election tribunal null and void and allowed Sanam Javed to contest elections from NA-119, NA-120 and Shaukat Basra from PP-150.
The SC ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to award elections symbol to both the candidates and the elections in their constituencies be conducted on February 8.
Later court issued detailed verdict of the case while detailed reasons of the court verdict will be issued later.
