Islamabad: Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Jamal Khan Mandukhail said that the measure of Supreme Court (SC) is an interference in the provincial sovereignty and it is not a case of suo moto.
Hearing the suo moto notice over delay in elections in Punjab and KP, the two judges Mansoor Ali Shah and Jamal Khan Mandukhail have written dissenting notes in the verdict.
They said that under the Article 184-3 the case is not maintainable adding that the cases existed already were heard hurriedly. They said that the cases of Zahoor Ali and Benazir Bhutto are clear.
The Supreme Court’s five-member bench in its verdict today ordered that the elections be held in Punjab and KP within 90 days. While two judges Syed Muneeb Akhtar and Justice Mazhar Ali supported the verdict.
On the other hand Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Jamal Mandukhail opposed the verdict.
