ISLAMABAD: Directing MD Utility Stores to get rid of substandard and unconfirmed stock of cooking oil and ghee all across the country by April 14 the three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar also called for detailed report over it.
MD Utility Stores informing the court during the hearing of the petition challenging sale of substandard oil and ghee at Utility Stores today sale of unregistered oil and ghee is being stopped at the Utility Stores all across the country plead it to to allow the Stores to sell confirmed edible oil and ghee.
Over this Chief Justice asked if the unregistered ghee would be destroyed to which MD Utility Stores said that 130 tons of ghee stock in Chitral is of better quality and only Vitamin A-deficient that could be taken care of. He also said that the remaining substandard ghee and oil will be destroyed within a month.
On this the court issued order to get rid of the stock of substandard oil and ghee all across the country by April 14 while the unregistered stock should be returned to the suppliers and to submt detailed report of all these processes in the court on the next hearing on April 14.
