Lahore (April 14, 2018): The Supreme Court on Saturday directed to wind up all the pending cases in high court pertaining to Model Town incident in two weeks.
A divisional bench headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan took suo moto notice of the case on April 8 after the affectees staged protest outside the Lahore registry and later a daughter one of the victims, Bisma met with the chief justice to demand speedy trial into the case.

During the court proceedings on Saturday, the court directed to wrap up the trial of the cases pertaining to the Model Town tragedy, which claimed lives of at least 14 people who were killed in cross fire between the PAT linked protesters and Punjab police, in the Lahore High Court within two weeks.
SC directed to make Justice Ali Baqir Najfi report part of the record.
Punjab prosecutor general submitted all the record of prosecution and both the cases of Model Town in the court.
The judge ordered advocate general to submit report in SC till 4pm.
The Chief Justice remarked that no action will be taken against the law. Those who do not obey the judges are not entitled to any concession.
“Is there any order regarding the summon of political personalities including Nawaz Sharif in ATC?” asked the CJP.
The court also directed the anti-terror court headed by Judge Awan to conduct day to day hearing into the case and wrap up the proceedings as early as possible. It had also directed to include the report prepared by Justice Baqar Najfi on the incident in the court proceedings.
Advocate General Ashtar Ausaf, who was directed by the apex court in last hearing to seek details from Punjab government over reasons for delay in the process, would also submit a report in this regard by 4:00 PM.
The prosecutor general submitted the report on the record of the cases pertaining to Model Town tragedy during today’s proceedings.
