SC rejects ANF’s plea to put Moosa Gilani’s name on ECL

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected the application of Anti-narcotics Force (ANF) seeking court directives to put the name os former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s son Ali Moosa Gillani on Exit Control List (ECL).

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar heard the application of ANF to put Gilani’s name on ECL.

The ANF counsel submitted before the court that ephedrine case was about drug trafficking.  He pleaded the court to directed the concerned authorities to put Gilani’s name on ECL.

The Chief Justice remarked that freedom of movement was a fundamental right.

The CJP observed that Gilani went abroad five times and returned so on what basis we put his name on ECL.

The court advised ANF to approach trial court saying that it would not issue directive to put Gilani’s name on ECL. The court rejected the application.
