Islamabad: The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday rejected the Elections Commission of Pakistan (ECP) insistence for suspension of the election tribunals.
The top court has sent formation of a larger bench to three-member committee. The SC has also issued notice to Attorney General.
The SC has sought all the records of letter and correspondence between high courts and the ECP over formation of tribunals.
Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa remarked that bringing a presidential order is the insult of the parliament.
The CJ said that if you wanted to bring the ordinance then shut down the parliament.
