SC says full court can’t be made at the time hearing petitions against civilian’s trials in military courts

Islamabad: Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) on Tuesday rejected the federal government insistence to make a full court for a hearing of the petitions against common citizens trials in the military court.

A six-member bench headed by Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandiyal comprising Justice Ijazul Ahsan, Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Munib Akhtar, Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi, and Justice Ayesha A Malik.

The CJ apprised that three judges of the top court refused to hear the case and some are abroad.

Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandiyal remarked that it is not possible at the moment to form a full court. The CJ said that on basis of technical ground making of the full court is not at all possible.
