SC takes suo moto notice of Faisal Vawda’s remarks against Judiciary.

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court issued show-cause notice to lawmakers Faisal Vawda who demanded evidence of interference in the judiciary.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faiz Isa and comprising Justice Irfan Saadat and Justice Naeem Akhtar will hear the suo moto case on Friday.

During the presser on Wednesday, Senator Faisal Vawda Criticized the Islamabad High Court (IHC) judges. “15 days have passed but no details were shared by the IHC judges to support the claims of alleged interference,” the Senator said in response to the IHC judges’ letter, alleging interference in the judicial affairs by the security agencies

Meanwhile Mustafa Kamal claimed the judiciary had set “ethical standards” for politicians and the dual citizenship of judges was a “big question mark” and the judiciary should be made answerable on this issue, while Awn had termed it a crisis that would lead to an “anarchy in the country”.

The Supreme Court on Friday issued show-cause notices to lawmakers Faisal Vawda and Mustafa Kamal, seeking responses from them on their recent loftiness against the judiciary.
