Schools, Colleges to Remain Closed Amid PTI Protest in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad district administration has announced the closure of all educational institutions in the capital city tomorrow due to the ongoing protests by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

In light of the current tense situation, the decision has been made as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students and staff. A formal notification confirming the closure of schools, colleges, and universities is expected to be issued shortly.

The move comes amid escalating tensions in Islamabad and across Punjab, where PTI workers have clashed with police during protests in several cities. These confrontations have resulted in arrests and violent altercations. At Faizabad, PTI protesters attempted to breach entry points into Islamabad, throwing stones at police personnel. Despite heavy police deployment, their efforts were thwarted, and the situation turned chaotic.

Authorities have stated that no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands, emphasizing that strict action will be taken against miscreants in accordance with the law. They also warned of severe consequences for those involved in violent activities.

In Attock, PTI workers in a convoy heading towards the M-1 motorway clashed with police, pelting stones and setting fire to the motorway. Authorities have issued stern warnings against such disruptive acts, vowing to maintain law and order at all costs.
