KARACHI: The Sindh government on Sunday imposed ban on public gathering and display or brandishing of weapons in the province for 15 days.
The provincial Home Department invoked Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) to ban gathering and display of arms for 15 days.
The intelligence agencies have cautioned of possible suicide attack at Bhit Shah’s Mazar. The agencies have also asked for enhancing security of important installations and schools and universities.
Reacting to the alerts, the provincial government imposed Section 144. The ban comes into effect on midnight at 12:00.
The notification said that processions and rallies would be banned in Red Zone, MA Jinnah Road, Tibet Centre, Jinnah International Airport and main highways.
The decision has been taken to ensure the security of people in wake of looming terrorist threats.
