Second round of Talks between JI and govt to be held today

Islamabad: The Jamat-e-Islami (JI) staging of protest sit-in against heavy electricity bills, the International Power Producers, tax burden imposed on salaried class in the budget, entered fourth day on Tuesday while the second round of talks with the government will be held today.

The JI Chief Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman has announced to extend its protest to other cities of the country.

Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman said that the protest sit-in will be held in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta.

In his speech yesterday to the participants of the rally, he said that not the elite but “roguing class” has imposed on the country.

The matter will not be end only negotiations with the IPPs, now the government has to end levy imposed on petroleum, he roared.

The JI had presented a 10 points demand to the government.
On the other hand the government has announced to set free all the activists and workers of the JI.

The government talks committee includes Federal Minister for Information Atta Ullah Tarrar, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affair Ameer Muqam, Federal Minister for Energy Owais Leghari, senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and the PM media coordinator Badar Shahbaz.

Whereas, the JI negotiation team comprises of Deputy Chief of JI Liaqut Baloch, JI Islamabad ameer Nasarullah Randhawa and deputy secretary generals Syed Farasat Shah and Secretary General of the JI Ameer Ul Azeem.

The Deputy chief of the JI Liaqut Baloch is leading the JI talks committee.
