Secure arrival: Pakistani navy escorts two oil tankers from Fujairah amid rising security threats

KARACHI: Two oil tankers carrying an estimated 100 to 120 million liters of fuel have successfully arrived in Karachi from Fujairah, United Arab Emirates.

The vessels were transported under the protective escort of the Pakistan Navy following their deployment in Fujairah. Officials from the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) confirmed that the ships safely reached Karachi under navy protection, especially after recent attacks on ships in Fujairah raised security concerns.

Given the attack incidents, securing a naval escort was considered vital to ensure the safe transfer of these ships.

Federal Maritime Affairs Minister Ghulam Ghaus Baloch appreciated the Pakistan Navy for their role in safeguarding the vessels during transit. He also mentioned that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reached out to Iran to request assistance in extracting two ships that are currently stranded in the Persian Gulf region.
