Security forces eliminate 12 terrorists in intelligence-led operation in Kalat: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security forces have killed 12 terrorists in a successful intelligence-driven operation carried out in Kalat district of Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Sunday.

According to the military’s media wing, the operation was launched after receiving confirmed intelligence regarding the presence and movement of militants linked to the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), described by ISPR as a proxy of Indian-sponsored terrorism operating under the name Fitna al Hindustan.

Troops surrounded the hideout and engaged the terrorists in a heavy exchange of gunfire, which resulted in the killing of all 12 militants. ISPR confirmed that a large cache of arms, ammunition, and explosive material was seized during the operation, indicating the group’s involvement in multiple terror incidents in Kalat and nearby areas.

Authorities said clearance and combing operations are still underway to ensure that no remaining militants escape and that the region is fully secured for the local population. The ISPR noted that the operation was conducted under the national counterterrorism framework “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan. The initiative is focused on dismantling both local and externally backed terrorist networks.

Reaffirming the state’s resolve, officials said the armed forces and law enforcement agencies remain determined to eradicate terrorism in all its forms and protect Pakistan’s sovereignty.
