KHARAN: According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security personnel have neutralized around fifteen to twenty terrorists linked to India-sponsored groups, involved in various terrorist incidents in Kharan District, Balochistan.
The ISPR statement reveals that on January 15, 2026, a group of approximately fifteen to twenty terrorists affiliated with Fitna Al Hindustan carried out coordinated attacks in Kharan City. Their operations targeted key locations including the Police Station, the National Bank of Pakistan, and Habib Bank Limited, during which they looted Rs 3.4 million.
The security forces responded swiftly, engaging the terrorists and forcing them to withdraw. In the subsequent clearance operations, twelve terrorists were killed in three separate confrontations. The attempt by the terrorists to seize hostages at the police station was successfully thwarted.
Operations to clear the surrounding areas are ongoing to ensure no remaining threats from foreign-sponsored terrorists. Pakistan’s security apparatus continues to pursue a vigorous counter-terrorism campaign under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” initiative, as endorsed by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan. The campaign aims to eradicate the threat posed by foreign-backed terrorist elements from the country.
