Cross-border terrorist activity has surged since the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan in 2021. Despite Pakistan’s repeated requests for the Taliban regime to curb terrorist groups operating from Afghan soil, the regime has largely ignored these demands and continues to harbor organizations responsible for attacks on Pakistani security forces and civilians.
