ISLAMABAD: Eight members of the group identified as Indian-backed Fitna al-Khwarij were neutralized during an intelligence-based operation carried out in Tank district on Friday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted the operation following a tip-off regarding the presence of these terrorists. After a fierce exchange of fire, the operatives, reportedly sponsored by external elements, were eliminated.

Weapons and ammunition were seized from the individuals, who were allegedly involved in a series of terrorist acts targeting security forces, law enforcement agencies, and innocent civilians.

A follow-up sanitization operation is underway to ensure the area is cleared of any remaining elements linked to this network.

The counter-terrorism campaign, conducted under the framework of “Azm-e-Istehkam” as envisioned by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, continues with vigor. This initiative aims to eradicate all forms of externally supported terrorism destabilizing the nation.
