Senate and NA sessions to be held today

Islamabad: Sessions of the Senate and the National Assembly will separately be held at the Parliament House in Islamabad today.

The Upper House will resume at 4 pm in the afternoon, while the Lower House will meet at 5 pm in the evening.

Besides legislative business, both the Houses will take up matters of national and international importance.

Digital identification bill is likely to be presented in the National Assembly while the NA session agenda has been issued.

The Minister of State for Information Technology Shiza Fatima Khawaja will present the bill in the lower house.

As per the content of the bill a National Digital Commission will be established while Prime Minister will head the commission.

All the Chief Ministers, State Bank of Pakistan ( SBP), Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority heads will also be part of the commission.

Besides the commission, Pakistan Digital Authority will also be established while the industries high expert will lead the authority.

Under the new system every citizen digital identification will be made up. While citizens health, assets and other social indicators information will be included.
