Islamabad (May 22, 2017): The senate standing committee has expressed anger over the airing interview of TTP’s arrested spokesperson Ehsanullah Ehsan and urged beginning of his trial.
Senate committee for interior meeting held under the chair of senator Rehman Malik and was briefed by Additional Secretary Faisal Lodhi regarding Ehsanullha Ehsan.
He informed the committee that Ehsanullah Ehsan has claimed the responsibility of several attacks including attacks on Malala Yousaf Zain and former Punjab’s home minister Shuja Khanzada.
Tahir Mashhaid criticizing government said that the propaganda to show off Ehsanullha Ehsan as hero should have been ended and treated him as terrorist.
Rehman Malik said the security should be provided to those parliamentarians who were facing security threats. Meanwhile committee members expressed concern over the absence of interior minister.
Committee was also briefed over the amended Bill regarding illegal possession on Property by law ministry, however showing dissatisfaction over the briefing the secretary law was summoned for the next meeting.
