Islamabad: Senate standing committee on law and justice has approved increasing number of judges to 25.
Chairman of the committee said that 25 judges includes 24 judges and one chief justice.
On the other hand, Senator Hamid Khan and Senator Kamran Murtaza opposed the uptick in the number of judges.
Senator Shahadat Awan said that the number of judges in the SC should be 21.
Chairman asked the secretary law how much time needed to apprise us what are the number of the pending cases in the SC.
Secretary Law said that we should be given a three week time for the information.
