ISLAMABAD: JUI-F Senator Kamran Murtaza has submitted a calling attention notice seeking a Senate discussion on suspects killed in police encounters after being arrested.
The notice refers to the Laiba suicide case and an incident in Bahawalpur, where suspects were reportedly killed in encounters. Murtaza described such deaths in police custody as a sign of administrative failure.
He also raised concerns about alleged corruption and poor management in the police force, along with declining public confidence, and called for debate on police reforms.
