Lahore: Country’s renowned senior journalist Arif Nizami breathed his last this morning in Punjab capital Lahore.
Arif Nizami had been hospitalized in a private hospital in Lahore for two weeks due to heart ailment.He was 74.
Arif Nizami was the son of Editor and pioneer of daily Nawa-i-Waqt Hameed Nizami and remained associated with print and electronic media.

He was among the Pakistan senior journalist.He was nephew of late journalist Majeed Nizami.
Arif Nizami was editor and publisher of the English daily Pakistan Today.
Nizami had served as a caretaker federal minister in former caretaker prime minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso’s cabinet back in 2013. He was the son of Hameed Nizami, the founder Nawa-i-Waqt Group of newspapers.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain have also expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Arif Nizami.
The details of his funeral prayers will be informed later on.
