Senior Journalist, Writer Zubaida Mustafa passes away

KARACHI:  Senior journalist and writer Zubaida Mustafa has passed away in Karachi. 

Zubaida Mustafa was 84 years old. She was a revered mentor to hundreds of journalists and dedicated much of her work to education and women’s rights. 

Throughout her career in journalism, Zubaida Mustafa reported on social issues, education, and health. She wrote numerous columns on children’s issues, healthcare, and poverty alleviation, and authored eight books on various topics. 

She was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Women’s Media Foundation and received several national and international awards in recognition of her contributions. 

Zubaida Mustafa had been unwell for several months. She was associated with the field of journalism for nearly 50 years. 

Fadil Jami, President of the Karachi Press Club, expressed his condolences in a statement on behalf of the club, extending sympathies to her family.
