Lahore: Pakistan team management has decided to give seniors some rest while juniors will play all the matches during the upcoming short format series with New Zealand.
As a new batter, Sayim Ayub will open Pakistan innings during all matches of the T-20 series in New Zealand.
Furthermore, Baber Azam and Muhammad Rizwan will be given rest in two matches while Azam Khan, son of former wicketkeeper-batsman Moen Khan, will be given a chance in the place of the senior duo.
The T-20 series with New Zealand will start on January 12 next year.
The team selection committee has already announced the 17-member squad of the T-20 team.
