Rawalpindi: Punishment of 19 criminals of May 9, 2023 tragedy was announced to be pardoned.
According to ISPR, during execution of punishments of May 9 tragedy, criminals filed mercy and amnesty petitions, a total of 67 criminals filed mercy petitions.
According to the Inter Service Public Relation, 48 petitions were referred to the “Courts of Appeal” for legal action, 19 petitions of criminals were granted on purely humanitarian grounds.
According to the Public Relations Department of Pakistan Army, other mercy petitions filed will be processed in accordance with the law within the prescribed period, these criminals are being released after completion of the regulatory process.
ISPR said, all other criminals are also entitled to appeal and other legal rights as per law and constitution. Ensures delivery of justice while keeping.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army, an order was issued for the release of 20 criminals on humanitarian grounds in April 2024.
Names of the criminals who were pardoned
According to ISPR, the sentence of Muhammad Ayaz son of Sahibzada Khan, Samiullah son of Mirdad Khan, Laiq Ahmed son of Manzoor Ahmed was pardoned. Amjad Ali son of Manzoor Ahmed, Yasir Nawaz son of Amir Nawaz Khan, Saeed Alam son of Muazullah Khan were pardoned.
Zahid Khan son of Muhammad Nabi, Muhammad Sulaiman son of Saeed Ghani Jan, Hamza Sharif son of Muhammad Azam, Muhammad Salman son of Zahid Nisar, Ashar Butt son of Muhammad Arshad Butt, Muhammad Waqas son of Malik Muhammad Khalil, Sufyan Idris son of Idris Ahmed, Muneeb Ahmed son of Naveed Ahmed Butt , Muhammad Ahmad son of Muhammad Nazir, Muhammad Nawaz son of Abdul Samad, Muhammad Ali son of Muhammad Buta, Muhammad Bilawal son of Manzoor Hussain and Muhammad Ilyas son of Muhammad Fazal Haleem were also pardoned.

- Samiullah, son of Mir Dad Khan, who was involved in the Bannu Cantt attack, was sentenced to 2 years in prison with hard labor.
- Muhammad Ayaz, son of Sahibzada Khan, involved in FC Cantt Peshawar attack, was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment with hard labor.
- Laiq Ahmed involved in ISI Office Faisalabad attack was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment with hard labor.
- Mohammad Salman, involved in the ISI Office Faisalabad attack, was sentenced to 2 years in prison with hard labor.
- Amjad Ali, who was involved in the ISI Office Faisalabad attack, was sentenced to 2 years of rigorous imprisonment.
- Muhammad Ali involved in the Faisalabad ISI office attack was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment with hard labour.
- Hamza Sharif, son of Muhammad Azam, involved in the Faisalabad ISI office attack, was sentenced to 2 years in prison with hard labor.
- Muhammad Ilyas, who was involved in the attack on the headquarters of Der Scouts at Timurgarh, was sentenced to 2 years in prison with hard labor.
- Muhammad Sulaiman, involved in the attack on the headquarters of Dir Scouts in Tamergarh, was sentenced to 2 years in prison with hard labor.
- Mohammad Waqas involved in Rahuli Gate Gujranwala Cantt attack was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment with hard labor.
- Muneeb Ahmed, son of Naveed Ahmed Butt, who was involved in the Rahuli Gate Gujranwala Cantt attack, was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment with hard labor.
- Muhammad Nawaz involved in Rahwali Gate Gujranwala cantt attack was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment with hard labor
- Asher Butt, son of Muhammad Arshad Butt, involved in the Rahwali Gate Gujranwala attack, was sentenced to 2 years in prison with hard labor.
- Mohammad Ahmed involved in Rahwali Gate Gujranwala attack was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment with hard labor
- Safian Idris, son of Idris Ahmed, involved in the Rahwali Gate Gujranwala attack, was sentenced to 2 years in prison with hard labor.
- Muhammad Bilawal involved in the Jinnah House attack was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment with hard labor.
- Zahid Khan son of Muhammad Nabi, involved in the attack on Punjab Regimental Center (PRC) Mardan, was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment with hard labor.
- Saeed Alam son of Muazullah Khan involved in the attack on Punjab Regimental Center (PRC) Mardan was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment with hard labor.
- Yasir Nawaz son of Amir Nawaz involved in the attack on Punjab Regimental Center (PRC) Mardan was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment with hard labor.
