QUETTA: Seven terrorists were killed in a fierce exchange of fire between Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel, security forces, and armed militants near the area of Choutair in Ziarat.

According to CTD sources, the deceased militants were affiliated with the banned organization Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).

The operation was initiated based on credible intelligence indicating the presence of militants linked to various terrorist activities in the area. During the operation, authorities recovered sophisticated weaponry and heavy arms from the slain terrorists.

This incident follows a separate encounter in Quetta, where a day earlier, one terrorist was killed, and another detonated a suicide vest amid a violent exchange with CTD forces in the Darakhshan region.

Both terrorists were confirmed to be members of the banned group Da’esh.

During the hour-long firefight, the CTD recovered a suicide jacket along with a substantial cache of arms and ammunition. Officials reported that the militants were plotting a significant terrorist attack in the province, which was successfully thwarted thanks to the CTD’s timely response.
