RAWALPINDI: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced that seven militants affiliated with the Indian-backed faction, Fitna al Khwarij, were eliminated in two distinct military operations in North Waziristan District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Pakistan military’s media wing, intelligence-led raids targeted the presence of Khawarij militants in the Mir Ali area. During these operations, security forces engaged the terrorists in heavy gunfire, resulting in the death of six militants.
Second operation was carried out in the Spinwam region, where an exchange of fire also led to the killing of one additional Khawarij. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists, who have been actively involved in numerous terrorist acts against security personnel, law enforcement agencies, and innocent civilians.
The security forces are continuing sanitization efforts to root out any remaining Indian-sponsored militants in the region. These operations are part of a broader counter-terrorism strategy named “Azm e Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan, aiming to eradicate foreign-supported terrorism from Pakistan.
Earlier in the day, terrorists attacked a convoy of the Assistant Commissioner of Miran Shah in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the martyrdom of four individuals, including the assistant commissioner. The assault took place on the Bannu-Miran Shah Road within the jurisdiction of Cantt Police Station when terrorists opened fire on the police convoy.
Among those killed were Assistant Commissioner Shah Wali and a civilian. DIG Sajjad Khan reported that three police personnel were injured during the attack, which culminated with the terrorists setting the vehicle ablaze. Prompt response from law enforcement ensured quick deployment to the scene.
Additionally, on November 25, security forces in Bannu District killed 22 militants believed to be Indian-backed. According to ISPR, an intelligence-based operation carried out on November 24 targeted the presence of Khawarij militants linked to Indian influence. After an intense firefight, the troops successfully eliminated 22 terrorists, with sanitization operations ongoing to find and neutralize any remaining threats in the area.
