Quetta: Balochistan counter terrorism department (CTD) officers have killed 7 suspected terrorists soon after they entered the country from Afghanistan to attack a sensitive installation, a government statement said on Wednesday.
At least 10 militants from the banned BLF were engaged and 7 were killed in Loralai district’s Kohar Dam area, a CTD spokesman said, according to the statement.
“The CTD Balochistan got credible source information that a large group of [probscribed] Balochistan Liberation Front terrorists [is] moving from Afghanistan in the general area of Kohar Dam [in] district Loralai and [they] are planning to attack a sensitive installation,” the spokesman said.
The CTD conducted an operation at a compound in Kohar Dam. An exchange of fire ensued and seven militants were killed, while three others fled.

Men from the CTD and other security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation in the area.
Kohar Dam is located between Loralai and Qillah Saifullah cities in Balochistan. It is just a few kilometres from Loralai University.
The spokesman said more raids were expected.
