Shahid Afridi Offers ‘Tea’ To Shikhar Dhawan

Karachi: Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi replied to ex-India opener Shikhar Dhawan, who had given a response to Afridi when he made comments about the Indian Army following the deadly terror attack in occupied Kashmir’s Pahalgam.

Afridi appeared on Pakistani television and blamed India’s security forces, questioning their efficiency, which did not sit well with Dhawan.

Afridi said, “Tum logon ki 8 lakh hi fauj hai Kashmir mein aur yeh ho gaya. Iska matlab nalayak ho, nikamme ho na tum log security de nahi sake logon ko (You have an 800,000-strong army in Kashmir and this still happened. It means you are inefficient and useless if you can’t provide security to the people).”

Shikhar Dhawan had lashed out at Shahid Afridi for his comments about the Indian Army following the Pahalgam attack.

The left-handed batter took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) and posted his reply.

To which Afridi has now replied on X wearing army costume, “Chouro jeet haar ko, aao tumhey chae pilata hun Shikhar. #FantasticTea (Forget about wins and losses, I will host you for tea Shikhar)”.

Afridi further mocked the Indian media’s coverage of the incident, comparing it to a Bollywood production and suggesting that Indian cricketers were wrong to blame Pakistan for the attack.

Afridi reminding the Indian cricket player offering of tea to Abhinandan, which refers Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, an Indian pilot who was briefly held by Pakistani forces on 27 February 2019 when his plane was shot down by Pakistan Air Force inside the Pakistani territory 7 km (4.3 miles) from LOC and repatriated on 1 March 2019.

While during interrogation he was served tea and while enjoying the tea he had passed the comments tea was fantastic.
