LAHORE: Chairperson of the Punjab Women Protection Authority, Hina Parvez Butt, has strongly criticized a viral clip from a morning show hosted by Fiza Ali, where her husband lifted her on live television.
The incident occurred during a recent episode when Fiza Ali invited her husband, Aijaz Khan, as a guest. During the show, her daughter, Faraal, asked her stepfather to demonstrate how he lifts Fiza at home. In response, Aijaz Khan picked up Fiza Ali in his arms on-air, a moment that quickly went viral across social media.
Reacting sharply, Hina Parvez Butt questioned the standards of television content, saying that anchors should understand that national TV is not a personal space where anything can be done freely. She termed the act “shameful” and “inappropriate,” adding that such behavior does not suit a public broadcast platform.
Butt further urged the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to take immediate notice of the incident and hold those responsible accountable.
The clip has sparked widespread debate online, with viewers divided over whether the moment was harmless entertainment or crossed the boundaries of decency on national television.
