SHC Rejects Bail Plea Of China-cutting Suspects

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday rejected bail pleas of two suspect involved in Chinna cutting in Lines Area Development Authority.

Sindh High Court held hearing on a case pertaining to China-cutting of more than 227 plots in Lines Area Development Authority.

As the hearing commenced, suspects’ lawyer submitted bail plea which stated that both suspects are ailing and have spent more than three years in prison hence they should be given bail.

Submission of bail plea of both the suspects faced opposition from National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor. NAB prosecutor claimed that bail could not be given to the suspects since reference has already been filed against them.

“The suspects have caused loss of billions of rupees to the national exchequer”, maintained NAB prosector.

After listening to the arguments of both parties, the court rejected pleas seeking bail of suspects and order NAB court to conclude hearing on filed reference within a month.
