RIYADH: Following the gracious invitation from His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, undertook an official state visit to the Kingdom on 17 September 2025 / 25/3/1447H.
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed the Pakistani Prime Minister at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh. The two leaders engaged in formal discussions in the presence of their respective delegations. At the start of the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his greetings and best wishes to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The discussions focused on strengthening the historic and strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, highlighting areas of mutual interest and cooperation.
Building upon nearly eighty years of enduring relations, rooted in brotherhood, Islamic solidarity, and strategic alliances, the Crown Prince and the Pakistani Prime Minister signed a “Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement.” This pact underscores the mutual resolve to bolster security, promote regional stability, and foster peace both regionally and globally. It emphasizes joint defense efforts and stipulates that any act of aggression against one nation will be viewed as an attack on both, thereby reinforcing their shared deterrence.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the warm reception and generous hospitality shown to him and his delegation. He extended his well-wishes for the health and prosperity of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and for the continued progress of the friendly people of Saudi Arabia. Conversely, His Royal Highness conveyed his sincere wishes for the good health of the Prime Minister and expressed hope for ongoing development and prosperity for the brotherly nation of Pakistan.
